Meeting For Sylvania 6th-12th Grade Students & Their Parents

Sylvania 6th-12th Grade Students & Their Parents,

We are having a parent/student meeting on Wednesday, January 11th at 6:00 PM in the Oasis.  The purposes of the meeting are:

  • Remind those all ready involved and explain to those not yet involved what the Oasis is about, why it’s about what it’s about, why you (or your child(ren)) should be part of it, and how you (or your child(ren)) can pursue that end.
  • Discuss the newly implemented 7 year teaching plan in the Oasis.
  • Introduce some discipleship resources aimed at parents and/or students.
  • Provide info about upcoming events.
  • Register students for Student Life Mission Camp (July 23-28 @ UT Arlington, $350/student, scholarship help available if requested).
  • Determine the most effective way to communicate Oasis information to parents & students.

It would be a great honor to me if you would plan to attend.  I hope to see you there!

Chad

Boy’s Home Family Christmas Reminder

Hello Sylvania Family!  This is just a reminder that our Boy’s Home Family Christmas is THIS Sunday immediately following our morning service.

  • If you signed up to serve (College & Career Sunday School Class), please see Rae Lynn Sutsch immediately after Sunday School in the kitchen.
  • If you signed up to bring a homemade dessert, you can drop it off in the kitchen Sunday morning.
  • If you signed up to attend this event with your family, please get to the fellowship hall immediately after the morning worship to find your family’s table assignment. We will bring the boys to your table after everyone is seated.
  • If you signed up to meet the boys at the Shoe Carnival, we will be leaving immediately after we are done with lunch.  The boys will ride with their house parent, and we will meet them there.

The arrangements are all in place and the boys are very excited to get to spend this time with us.  What a blessing this ministry has been to our church family, and what a wonderful opportunity for us to pour out God’s love on these boys!  Thank you for your willingness to bless and encourage them!

Contact Rae Lynn Sutsch, Jeff Longar, or Scott Luhrs if you have any questions or concerns.
