Sylvania Church

Hey fellow Oasians!

On February 12th, we’re going to visit the elderly members of our church who are not able to attend services due to sickness or age.

If any of you guys would like to be a part of this, just EMAIL ME (Abigail) by the Friday before (Feb. 10th).  We’ll be doing this one Sunday per month, so if you’d like to come, just jump in when you can!  The goal is to split up in groups of 3 or 4 right after morning church and visit as many people as we can.  We will be eating right after church, so make sure you bring a lunch!!!  Thanks to you all!

Also, if any of you play guitar, feel free to bring it with some song sheets in case they would like for us to sing for/with them.

As members of God’s church, we are called to, “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the Church of God, which He obtained with His own blood” (Acts 20:28).  These folks love to have visitors, and, as we learned at Student Life, they’re a blast to be around!  Let me know if you want to be part of it.

Our annual Super Bowl party is coming up soon!  And if you haven’t attended an Oasis Super Bowl Party in the past, it’s for both the hardcore football fan and the person who doesn’t know what the Super Bowl is.  In other words, this throw-down is the place to be, not matter who you are.

We’re serving together in the kitchen at the Salvation Army this Saturday.  Some of us will serve food, others will wait tables and others will talk with the people who come to eat.  Here are the details you need:

• What? Salvation Army kitchen
• When? THIS Saturday, January 21st from 9:30am-1:30pm
• Where? Meet @ Sylvania & Return to Sylvania
• Cost? Bring about $8 for us to eat lunch together after we finish serving

Oasis Parents & Students,

We’re meeting at 9:30am next Saturday, January 21st, and heading to the Salvation Army shortly thereafter. We’ll have some serving food, others waiting tables and others talking with those who come to eat.  Then, we’ll go eat somewhere ourselves and return to the church around 1:30pm.  RSVP by emailing me or by signing up in the foyer between the offices and the sanctuary.
