Paul’s prayer for the Colossians was that they “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:10) The College and Career Ministry exists to help students and young adults in their journey to “walk in a manner worthy of the Lord”.

To walk in a manner worthy of Him, you have to know Who He is.  Long ago, the prophet Jeremiah recorded the words of God when He said,

Thus says the LORD: “Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches, but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 9:23-24)

We learn of the knowledge of God and gain understanding of Who He is through diligent study of Scripture.  However, the other side of belief in what the Bible says is acting in a manner consistent with what it says.

To that end, the students and young adults in the College and Career Ministry seek to serve each other, the Church, and our community.  Jesus said, “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (John 13:35)

By God’s grace, our desire is to make the Kingship of Christ Jesus known, not only in our readiness to give an answer for the hope that is in us, but also by the evidence of transformed lives that are governed by the law of Christ, not the trends of the culture.
