Long-time Sylvania member and legitimately godly man, Floyd McNutt, passed away Wednesday night. His obituary is copied for you below, which includes the details of his funeral arrangements. Though it goes without saying, please be in prayer for his family.
Services for Floyd C. McNutt, 90, of Tyler are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Starrville Cemetery.
Floyd was born May 26, 1920, in Starrville to the late William and Mary McNutt. He passed away peacefully on Aug. 11, 2010, in Canton.
He graduated from Gladewater High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. After his service in the Army, he worked for McWilliams Furniture and retired from Texas Eastman, and was also a member of Sylvania Church.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Grace Evelyn Johnson McNutt and Elaine Woodall McNutt; brothers, Jack, Billy, George and J.W. McNutt; and a grandson, Brandon Howell.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Connie and Robert Putnam of Wills Point, Joan Howell of Greenville, Janet and Joe Gonzalez of College Station; sisters and brother-in-law, Inez and Ray Snider and Allyne Hall, all of Tyler; grandchildren, Amanda Howell Rasch, Scott Howell, Paul and Robin Putnam, and Josh Gonzalez; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Craig Smith, Steve Smith, Scott Howell, Paul Putnam, Ray Snider and Harold Smith.
