Bro Phillip,
I just listened to your message from Jan 18th. So many times christian parents forget to weigh their childrens desires against the Word to determine the right from the wrong. I think parents get a little to caught up in wanting their children to have a “secure life” through college education, a career that pays well, and a mate that also has those material accomplishments. We should focus more on teaching security (spiritual and financial) in Jesus, and as long as their decisions are “within the sheep pen” God will bless them. I really liked the metaphor you used…a great way for me to explain to others that my freedom in Christ is vast but protective..
I totally agree with the fact that God gives us the desire for food and intimate relationship. He created them both and they are good. I think the ultimate relationship he deires for us is our intimacy with Him. Sharing every bit of our being with him.
