Jarrin and his wife, Rebecca, have been at Sylvania since 2019, with Jarrin joining the full-time staff as Pastor of Youth & Assimilation in September of 2022. Jarrin loves the “girl dad life” with him and Rebecca having two daughters. Before moving to Tyler, Jarrin served as a Youth Pastor in Louisiana for 9 years, stepping out of vocational ministry in 2017. Through God’s providence and grace, Jarrin was given the opportunity to serve in vocational ministry at Sylvania, and it has been an enormous blessing. In his role as Associate Pastor, Jarrin primarily oversees the Oasis student and family ministry, assists new families in getting connected into the life of Sylvania Church, and performs various other tasks. Jarrin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 2005 and graduated seminary in 2011. Jarrin has also completed additional graduate work in Marriage and Family Ministries.
A scripture that Jarrin that continues to encourage and challenge Jarrin in ministry is 1 Thessalonians 2:8, when Paul writes, “in the same way we had a fond affection for you and were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become very dear to us.” Jarrin’s hope for Sylvania is that this precious community of faith continues to grow in its knowledge of the doctrines of Grace and in their love for each other, their community, and the nations.
