The “Why Do We Recite the Apostles’ Creed” course is up, running, and off to a strong start. You can still register for that course here.
What is next at Sylvania U? It will take a little time, and it might be rolled out in phases, but the next big addition to Sylvania U is going to be a systematic walk through the entire Bible. Now, this won’t be a typical survey. It will be associated with a chronological “read-through-the-Bible” plan. It will include historical background, textual criticism (when appropriate), important people, places, timelines, etc. It will also supply links to helpful resources and articles. It will also include bonus reading material for people who want to engage certain topics on a deeper level.
The entire run through the Bible on this level will be no small task – it will likely be broken up into multiple 8-12 week courses that span nearly three and a half years! Of course, as with all the Sylvania U course, you can progress as quickly or slowly as you would like.
I am including in this post a link to the Bible reading plan for the upcoming course. If you were to read one chapter per day, it would take you 1189 days to finish the Bible (or – 3 1/4 years!) Check out the reading plan through the link below.
One Chapter A Day Bible Reading List – Chronological PDF
The reading plan is labeled “chronological.” This is generally true. As you wait for the first sections of the courses to post, enjoy using this reading plan to “slow down and read.”
